someOthaShip

A 13 track alternative rap/hip-hop album (47m 38s) — released March 1st 2010 on Mello Music Group

Georgia Anne Muldrow radiates light into west coast Hiphop. Georgias youthful flow is a beguiling mix social revolution and raw street wisdom. Her choruses, a haunting echo of our ancestors? reality. And her beats, a cosmic exploration of interplanetary fOnk. Her early work involved collaborations with the Platinum Pied Pipers, Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and J*DaVeY. She worked with Dudley Perkins on the The Message Uni:Versa album, released her solo Olesi on Stones Throw, a mix-tape-styled compilation of contemporaries called Ms One?, and a sophomore album titled Umsindo on E1/Koch. In addition, a collection of early recordings was recently made available on Animated Cartunes. Her recent collaborative efforts with Erykah Badu, Mos Def and Madlib have further garnered her a well deserved spotlight. Meanwhile, Declaime (Dudley Perkins) breaths a spiritual wind back into the supercool, fOnked out vibrations of Hiphop. He first appeared on Alkaholiks ?Coast II Coast? album in 1995 alongside Lootpack and released his Madlib produced debut EP as Declaime in 1999. Since then he released two albums as Declaime and three as Dudley Perkins and too many side-projects, collaborations and features mention. SomeOthaShip is a collabo album by Georgia & Dudley with befriended and likeminded artists. The bulk of the production is handled by Georgia Anne Muldrow with additional beats provided by Flying Lotus (Warp), Black Milk (Fat Beats) , Oh No (Stones Throw) and Oddisee (Mello Music Group). Guest vocalists include Kool G Rap, Black Milk, Rapper Big Pooh of Little Brother and MED.
